On Tuesday, the Nassau County Police Department announced that they had apprehended and taken into custody a man suspected of shooting people at a supermarket in West Hempstead on New York’s Long Island that killed one person and hospitalized two others.
“The #NassauCountyPD can confirm that the subject has been apprehended and taken into custody. Our thoughts are with those who were killed and injured today,” reads a tweet from the Nassau County Police Department’s official Twitter page.
On Tuesday morning, police said that a grocery store employee was killed and two others wounded in a shooting at a Stop & Shop on New York's Long Island.

At the time of the announcement the suspect had not yet been apprehended and police had asked area residents to remain indoors.
The Person of Interest involved is Gabriel DeWitt Wilson, age 30. He is approx. 6'2" & wearing a black baseball hat and a black sweatshirt, & was last seen heading westbound on Hempstead Turnpike.
