The former star has also been given an initial fine, as he admitted his guilt.

A second court hearing in the Jung Il-hoon case took place on the 20th of May. The prosecution has asked that the former member of the popular K-Pop boy band BTOB receive a fine of 133 million KRW and 4-year jail sentence.

From 2016 to 2019, Ilhoon and the other defendants in the matter purchased around 820 g of marijuana with a street value of over 133 million KRW. The purchases were made via illegal dealers using bitcoin payments. During the first court hearing, the performer known simply as Ilhoon admitted all the charges. An official representative for the ex-BTOB member shortly thereafter stated that Ilhoon is taking a deep look at his past behaviour and his rash decisions were the result of the severe stress he was under as a performer. The other defendants, 7 in total, are facing jail terms as well.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place on the 10th of July.

Despite the ruined image of a perfect idol, fans of BTOB are sharing supportive messages on social media.
