"As of 7 a.m. [23:00 on Tuesday] on 21 July, the natural disaster has affected 36,000 people, about 200,000 people were urgently evacuated", the authority said in a statement, as cited by the newspaper Beijing Daily.
More than 20,000 people are involved in rescue operations and eliminating the consequences of the flooding, the statement added.
