A spokesperson with the FBI confirmed to reporters that three USPS employees - including the alleged gunman - are dead following the shooting in the southeast Memphis neighborhood of Orange Mound. One of the victims has been identified as James Wilson, a manager at the facility. Authorities believe the accused committed suicide via self-inflicted gunshot. No further details have been provided. Earlier, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) tweeted that no active threats remained at the 2801 Park Ave. location. USPS officials have noted that the East Lamar Carrier Annex is generally frequented by employees, rather than retail customers. Assistance will be provided to those employed at this section of the Memphis-area facility, the USPS noted in a same-day statement.
