Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadallah has urged to punish those responsible for the fatal clashes that hit the Lebanese capital earlier this week. The MP was referring to the deadly shooting that hit the city, as mass rallies for, and against the Shia movement were held in Beirut. The shooting occurred in the Tayouneh district, as several militants reportedly opened fire at the supporters of the Hezbollah and Amal parties. As a result, at least six people were killed and over 30 were wounded.Hezbollah and Amal blamed the Lebanese Forces, a Christian party and former militia, for the attack. The Lebanese Forces leadership rejected the allegations of its supporters being involved in the incidents. The bloodshed took place amid a deteriorating economic situation in the Middle Eastern country, as Lebanon has been facing severe currency inflation, worsened by the pandemic. The nation is also recovering from a catastrophic explosion in the port of Beirut, which killed 250 people and left around 300,000 in the capital homeless.

Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadallah has urged to
punish those responsible for the fatal clashes that hit the Lebanese capital earlier this week.
"What the criminals did is a massacre and it will have important ramifications", he said, according to the Beirut-based TV channel al-Mayadeen. "Those who incited, planned, ... and opened fire should be held to account all the way up to the top".
The MP was referring to the deadly shooting that hit the city, as mass rallies for, and against the Shia movement were held in Beirut. The shooting occurred in the Tayouneh district, as several militants reportedly
opened fire at the supporters of the Hezbollah and Amal parties. As a result, at least six people were killed and over 30 were wounded.
Hezbollah and Amal blamed the Lebanese Forces, a Christian party and former militia, for the attack. The Lebanese Forces leadership rejected the allegations of its supporters being involved in the incidents.
The bloodshed took place amid a deteriorating economic situation in the Middle Eastern country, as Lebanon has been facing severe currency inflation, worsened by the pandemic.
