A 3,500 foot wide (1.06 km) asteroid will pass close to Earth next Tuesday, with NASA categorising it as a "potentially hazardous asteroid" due to its size and trajectory.First discovered by Australian astronomer Robert McNaught in 1994, the space rock is named "Asteroid 7482 (1994 PC1)" and is set to pass within about 1.2 million miles (1.9 million km) of the planet.
