The circumstances of the incident are not clear at this time. The officers were shot near the 2100 block of McGowen Street, according to police.
Three Houston police officers were shot in the city on Thursday afternoon, and the gunman is still on the loose, police said.
According to the statement, the shooter drove away in a white Mercedes, but no description of the perpetrator has been provided at the moment.
The wounded officers have been taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, but their conditions were not immediately known.

The Houston Police Department issued a warning to local residents to avoid the shooting area.
According to local media reports, the shootout may have occurred as a result of chasing a suspect in the city's midtown. The local ABC-affiliated TV station provided footage from the scene of the incident, showing a police SUV parked in the middle of the street with open doors.
In addition, the TV channel showed a recording of an external surveillance camera showing an incident with fairly intense semi-automatic fire from both sides.
In this video, the recording of the shootout starts at about 01:00.
Authorities have also reportedly asked businesses in the neighborhood to remain closed while they search for the culprit and investigate the situation.
According to a follow-up report in the Houston Chronicle, citing the head of the Houston Police Officers Union, Doug Griffith, two of the injured officers were shot in the leg and in the arm, respectively.
According to the report, the cops were attempting to apprehend a man accused of shooting up his girlfriend's home.
