"I have submitted a letter of no confidence."Another Conservative lawmaker, Gary Streeter, has also declared that he submitted a letter of no confidence in Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday."I cannot reconcile the pain and sacrifice of the vast majority of the British Public during lockdown with the attitude and activities of those working in Downing Street," he wrote in a post on Facebook. "Accordingly, I have now submitted a letter seeking a motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister."As Reuters points out, several Conservative Party politicians have submitted letters of no confidence over the parties that were held at Boris Johnson's residence at Downing Street, which are being investigated by police for possibly breaking COVID lockdown rules.Johnson himself did admit that he attended one such gathering in May 2020, which he thought was a work event. The PM apologised and promised that the report into these parties would be published in full.However, BoJo refrained from commenting on calls by some lawmakers for him to resign, arguing that it is important to wait for the report on this so called "partygate" and for the conclusion of the police investigation into the matter in question.
