special operation in Ukraine.White House press secretary Jen Psaki at a briefing on Thursday said Biden and Xi will hold a phone conversation as part of ongoing efforts to maintain open lines of communication between the United States and China. "This is an opportunity for President Biden to assess where President Xi stands [on Ukraine]", Psaki said about the upcoming call. "The fact that China has not denounced what Russia is doing, in and of itself, speaks volumes. And it also speaks volumes not only in Russia or in Ukraine, but around the world".
