He formed Foo Fighters in 1994, with Hawkins joining three years later. Hawkins and Grohl played with some of the biggest names in rock music, including Queen, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones. “Not only do you get to just, like, pinch yourself, 'Wow, I'm in the room with this person', but you also get to kind of try and soak up a little bit of what they do musically, y'know? It's neat. It really is amazing, and you really get to be in the presence of greatness when you're with people like that,” said Hawkins of his music idols.
