The Jerusalem stabbing marks yet another attack amid a spike in Israeli-Palestinian violence during the past several weeks.
A man armed with a knife stabbed a police officer at the Nablus Gate in Jerusalem on Sunday, Israeli police have said.
Police shot the attacker and "neutralised" him.
According to the police, the attacker was identified as a "19-year-old Palestinian terrorist" who was an "illegal resident".
The police officer was moderately injured and quickly taken to the hospital.
A video showing the scene of the attack emerged on social media.
The stabbing in Jerusalem occurred just days after a terror attack in Elad that took place on Israel's Independence Day. The Elad attack left three people dead and four wounded. Israeli security forces have captured the two suspects behind the Elad attack.
