Moscow launched the special military operation in Ukraine on February 24 in order to stop the eight-year-long war Kiev had waged in Donbass. President Vladimir Putin stressed that the actions of Ukrainian military in the region amount to genocide, and said that those accountable for the atrocities should be held responsible.
Earlier this month, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed that the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic had been completely liberated from Ukrainian forces, as Russian and Donbass troops took control over the key city of Lisichansk.
However, retreating Ukrainian forces continue to shell the territory of the DPR and LPR, targeting Donetsk and other cities, which has resulted in multiple civilian deaths.

At Least 50,000-70,000 Ukrainian Troops Killed Since Start of Russia's Operation - Hackers
The casualties among the Ukrainian armed forces since the start of Russia’s special military operation currently stand at least between 50,000 and 70,000, a member of the RaHDIt Russian hacker group told Sputnik.
"The losses of the Ukrainian army are really very high, much higher than what the office of the president officially declares… They are greatly underestimated, there are clearly not 10, but at least 50-70 thousand losses," the hacker said on condition of anonymity.

Oleksiy Arestovich, an adviser to the head of Ukraine's presidential office, said at the start of June that up to 10,000 Ukrainian troops have been killed since the start of Russia’s special operation.

UN Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo said at the end of last month that a total of 4,731 civilians have been killed during the conflict in Ukraine and 5,900 others have been injured.

Kiev Wants to 'Confiscate' Russian Real Estate in UK Via Court - Reports
MOSCOW, July 10 (Sputnik) - Ukraine is considering filing a lawsuit in a bid to confiscate 18 real estate assets in the UK linked to Russians, The Times reported on Sunday.
An investigation by The Times revealed that Ukraine is considering taking legal action to take possession of 18 properties in the UK, which could be worth up to 100 million pounds ($120 million).
Many of the properties are located near Highgate, north London, which is popular with Russian diplomats and oligarchs who own some of the most expensive properties in the area, the newspaper said.
The Witanhurst, London’s second largest mansion after the Buckingham Palace, is also on the list. It is valued at 300 million pounds and owned by sanctioned Russian billionaire Andrey Guryev.
The Times added that Vadym Prystaiko, the Ukrainian ambassador to the UK, is hiring a lawyer to bring Russia to court in the UK, hoping that it would allow the confiscation of the properties or will force Moscow to sell them and share part of the profits.
Last month, EU Council President Charles Michel said that the European Union is looking into the possibility of confiscating assets of sanctioned Russian individuals and entities.
