Ambassador Antonov: Russia Rejects Groundless US Accusations of Mining Ukrainian Territory
Washington is groundlessly accusing Russia of mining the territory of Ukraine, a move which Moscow strongly denies, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said in response to a media question about the US intention to assist Ukraine in demining its territory.

"Washington unfairly holds us responsible for mining the territory of the Republic. In the Russophobic campaign, the Americans surpassed themselves by comparing the actions of the Russian Armed Forces with the tactics of ISIS [banned in Russia] in Syria. We were accused, among other things, of blocking access to farmland," Antonov said as quoted by the Russian Embassy on Telegram.

"We strongly reject these insinuations. During the negotiations on grain exports, the international community has already made sure that the Ukrainians themselves mined the coastal waters of the Black Sea," he said.

US to Give Ukraine $89Mln for Landmine Removal, Humanitarian Response, Politico Reports
The United States will provide Ukraine with $89 million to support landmine removal efforts and humanitarian work that addresses the impact of such munitions, Politico reported on Tuesday.
The money will fund 100 landmine clearance teams in Ukraine for the period of one year, the report said, citing a senior State Department official.
The funding announcement comes following the US Agency for International Development’s (USAID) allocation of $4.5 billion to address Ukraine’s budget deficit. The allocation’s first disbursement of $3 billion is set to be delivered later in August.
The announcement also comes in the wake of the latest $1 billion presidential drawdown package of security assistance for Ukraine. This is the eighteenth and largest drawdown of US arms and equipment using the authority, according to the Defense Department.
The United States has never supplied Ukraine with any anti-personnel landmines that are not compliant with the Ottawa Convention, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Political-Military Affairs Stanley Brown said in June.

Ukraine May Open Bayraktar Drone Factory in 2023, Ambassador to Turkey Says
The Bayraktar drone factory in Ukraine may be launched in 2023, Ukrainian ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bondar said on Tuesday.
On Monday, Bondar said that the Turkish drone-developer Bayrak plans to build its factory in Ukraine and already procured land for it.
"The company has already started preparatory work to start building this factory. There are some nuances with the delivery of some equipment and the selection of a company for the construction. I hope that we will see some progress on this in the coming months. The construction itself may take a few months, and the launch of the plant may be in 2023, possibly at the end," Bodnar said during an all-Ukrainian TV-marathon.
Bodnar added that the Ukrainian government had already approved a bilateral agreement for the construction of the plant.
Ukraine uses Turkish-made Bayraktar unmanned attack drones in the military conflict with Russia in Donbas.
Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian military would consider the Bayraktar drone factory as a military target should such plant be built in Ukraine.

If Bayraktar Plant Appears in Ukraine, Russia Will Regard it As Military Target - Kremlin

The Ukrainian ambassador in Ankara has said the Turkish company plans to build its factory in Ukraine and already procured land for it.

"The very fact of creating such a facility, which, of course, will immediately fall under demilitarization - this must be understood - of course, this will probably only prolong the suffering of Ukrainians, but will not help to avoid what is the goal of the special military operation," Peskov told reporters.
