LIVE UPDATES: Radiation Level at Zaporozhye NPP Remains Normal After Ukrainian Shelling - Moscow

Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine back in February, amid the intensifying attacks of Kiev's troops against the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. President Putin stated that Moscow aims to stop the eight-year-long war, waged by Ukraine against the people of Donbass, noting that Kiev's actions there amount to genocide.
On Friday, Kiev's forces cut the last power line connecting Ukraine to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant - the biggest NPP in Europe, which has been under the control of Russian forces since March. This comes after multiple attacks against the facility, carried out by Ukrainian troops, as they targeted the NPP with heavy artillery fire.
Moscow has repeatedly warned that Ukraine plans to conduct a false flag operation and provoke a major disaster in order to pin the blame on Russia afterwards.

US Sending More Weapons to Ukraine Via Maritime Routes - Reports
The US Defense Department has been expanding the shipment of weapons to Ukraine by sea, The Washington Post reports citing US defense officials.
Ships are able to transport large quantities of cargo, despite being slower than aircraft, which could allow Kiev to build up a bigger weapons arsenal, the newspaper said on Saturday.
The Pentagon started sending weapons to Ukraine by sea "a few weeks" after Russia started its special military operation at the end of February, but maritime shipping has been broadened significantly this spring, US defense officials told The Washington Post.
Howitzer artillery and other heavy weapons that the US now sends to Ukraine are easier transported by sea. US military officials declined to detail specific maritime routes used to get weapons to Ukraine, but did say that some of the arms are brought directly to the battlefield, while others are used to replenish US stocks in Europe.
Earlier this week, the United States announced a new $2.98 billion package of military aid for Ukraine, which includes six additional National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS), from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which finances the US defense industry to boost production of certain weapons.
Most of the previous security packages for Ukraine were presidential drawdown packages that sent weapons and equipment from the US national defense stockpile. However, the United States does not have NASAMS in stock that are immediately available for Ukraine.
Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl said deliveries of military equipment in the $2.98 billion package will begin in the next several months and continue into the coming years.

Seven Ships Carrying Grain, Food Products Authorized to Leave Ukraine - JCC
The Istanbul-based Joint Coordination Center (JCC) has authorized seven ships to leave Ukraine on Sunday, as part of the Black Sea grain initiative, the JCC said.
The seven vessels (INVINCIBLE II, SILVER LADY, FPMC B 201, AEOLOS, MELINA, SOFIE BULKER, ANASTASIA) will carry a combined 210,294 tonnes (metric tons) of grain and food products from Ukraine, the JCC said on Saturday.
INVINCIBLE II will leave from the port of Chornomorsk and will carry 49,500 tonnes of barley to China. SILVER LADY will depart from Yuzhne and will carry 39,494 tonnes of corn to Italy. FPMC B 201 will deliver 33,000 tonnes of wheat from Odessa to Egypt. AEOLOS will also leave from Odesa and will bring 30,000 tonnes of corn to Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
MELINA will carry 27,500 tonnes of corn from Yuzhne to Romania, while SOFIE BULKER will depart from Odessa and will bring 27,000 tonnes of barley to Spain. ANASTASIA will leave from Chornomorsk with 3,800 tonnes of wheat for Turkey, the JCC said.
On Saturday, three vessels left Ukrainian ports with food products, as part of the UN-brokered grain deal, according to the Turkish Ministry of National Defence.
On July 22, Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey signed an UN-brokered initiative to provide a humanitarian maritime corridor for ships with food and fertilizer exports from Black Sea ports. Three key Ukrainian ports — Odessa, Chornomorsk, and Yuzhne — were unblocked to resume exports. A joint coordination center was set up to monitor the implementation of the initiative, including ensuring that cargo ships do not carry unauthorized goods or personnel.
The head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, Col. Gen. Mikhail Mizintsev, said on Friday that a total of 39 general cargo vessels loaded with over 821,000 tonnes of food products had left Ukrainian ports under the Istanbul grain deal since August 1.
