A truck was blown up on the Crimean Bridge on 8 October, causing seven fuel tanks of a freight train to catch fire and two car spans partially to collapse, Russia's National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) said. The cause of the explosion is being investigated. According to preliminary information, three people died in the explosion.The 12-mile bridge is the longest in Europe and connects the Crimean peninsula and mainland Russia's Krasnodar region. It was opened by President Vladimir Putin in May 2018.
