LIVE UPDATES: Russia Treats Ukrainians With Respect, President Putin Says

Ukrainian energy, defense, military, and communications infrastructure have been targeted in retaliatory attacks by the Russian armed forces since 10 October.
Moscow launched strikes using precision-guided weapons against Ukraine two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, which, Russia believes, was carried out by the Ukrainian special services.
Since then, air raid sirens have sounded in Ukrainian regions almost every day - sometimes throughout the country. On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that about 40 percent of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure was damaged, which has led to massive power cuts.

Ukrainian Troops Fear Loss of Internet Access on Frontlines Amid Starlink Outage - Reports
Ukrainian troops fear losing internet access on the frontlines in the conflict with the Russian military amid an outage of 1,300 Starlink satellite internet units, US media reported on Friday.

The outage, which started on October 24, is taking place due to lack of funding to pay for the satellite internet service, run by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk’s SpaceX company, the report said.

The 1,300-unit outage affects a set of terminals purchased from a UK company in March and used in combat-related operations, the reports said.

SpaceX charged Ukraine $2,500 per month to keep the units connected, totaling nearly $20 million in costs by September, the report said. Ukraine reached a point where they could no longer afford to pay for the satellite internet service, the report added.

In September, SpaceX sent a letter to the US Defense Department requesting funding for the Starlink systems in Ukraine, claiming it could no longer pay for the service out of pocket. However, Musk later withdrew the request.

Nevertheless, negotiations between SpaceX and the Defense Department about the satellite internet service for Ukraine continue despite the withdrawn request, the report added.

In October, Ukrainian Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said Musk gave assurances that Starlink will continue operations in Ukraine.

Putin: Kherson Residents Should be Removed From Combat Zone, Civilians Should Not Suffer
Residents of Kherson must be removed from the combat zone, civilians should not suffer from shelling, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.

Earlier in the day, media reported that a series of explosions took place in the city of Kherson, as well as the Ukrainian cities of Nikolayev, Nikopol, and Krivoy Rog

“Now, of course, those who live in Kherson need to be removed from the combat zone. The civilian population should not suffer from shelling, any offensive and counter-offensive, or any other measures related to military operations,” Putin said.

The Russian president also said that the actions of volunteers, who help to bring residents of Kherson out of dangerous zones, are absolutely correct.

Russia began striking Ukrainian infrastructure on October 10, two days after Ukraine's terrorist attack on Russia's Crimean Bridge.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the Ukrainian attack on the bridge aimed to destroy Russian civilian infrastructure. According to him, Kiev has put itself on a par with the most odious terrorist groups, and it is impossible to leave the crimes of the Kiev regime unanswered any longer.

Some 450,000 apartments in Kiev remain without electricity on Friday, one and a half times more than in previous days, due to overload of the Ukrainian energy system, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital said.

The mayor added that shutdowns are due to overload at the central hub of the country’s power grid.

The holding specified that it was trying to stabilize the situation as soon as possible, together with energy utility Ukrenergo and other emergency services.
