Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 after a request from the people's republics of Donetsk and Lugansk for help in defending themselves against Ukrainian provocation.
Russia has been targeting infrastructure which aids the Ukrainian military since 10 October in retaliation for Ukraine's terrorist attacks, including an assault on the Crimean Bridge, executed by Ukrainian intelligence services.
The strikes have targeted power, defense industry, military command and communications facilities throughout Ukraine.
Over the past months, air raid alerts have been heard in regions of Ukraine every day, with many parts of the country experiencing power cuts.
On Wednesday, Germany pledged to send 14 Leopard 2A6 tanks to Ukraine, after being repeatedly urged to do so by some of its EU and NATO allies. The United States said it would send Ukraine 31 Abrams tanks and eight M88 recovery vehicles, noting that delivery would take considerable time.

Ukrainian HIMARS Strike on Bridge in Melitopol Kills 5 People, Injures 4 Others - Official
SIMFEROPOL, January 29 (Sputnik) - Five people died and four others were wounded as a result of a missile strike on a railway bridge in Melitopol, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporozhye regional administration's main council, said on Sunday.
"Five people were killed, four people were wounded, two of them are in serious condition," Rogov said on Telegram.
According to preliminary data, the strike involved three HIMARS missiles, one of which was shot down.
The head of the Zaporozhye regional administration, Yevgeny Balitsky, noted that repair work was being carried out on the bridge at the time of the shelling.
Balitsky also expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims, noting that the authorities would provide assistance to the relatives of those dead and injured.
The Ukrainian authorities deliberately targeted the bridge, a civilian facility, committing yet another crime against civilians, Balitsky added.

Ukrainian Tank Crews Arrive in UK for Training on Challenger 2 Tanks - UK Defense Ministry
Ukrainian tank crews arrived in the United Kingdom for training to operate Challenger 2 tanks, which London plans to send to Kiev this spring, the UK Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

"Ukrainian tank crews have arrived in the UK to begin training ... The UK will provide Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine alongside global partner nations - demonstrating the strength of support for Ukraine, internationally," the ministry said on Twitter.

On January 15, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the country will send 14 of its Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine.

Earlier this week, UK deputy Defense Minister Alex Chalk said that the tanks would be supplied at the end of March and the Ukrainian military would start training to operate them on January 30.

Germany also committed to sending 14 Leopard 2A6 tanks to Ukraine, after being repeatedly pushed to do so by some of its EU and NATO allies. The United States said it would send Ukraine 31 Abrams tanks and eight M88 recovery vehicles, noting that that delivery would take considerable time.

Kiev's Shelling of Hospitals is War Crime, Organizers Will Be Punished - Moscow
Ukraine's missile strikes on hospitals in the city of Novaya Kakhovka and the town of Novoaydar are war crimes committed by Kiev and its Western allies, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

"The deliberate shelling of functioning civilian medical facilities and the targeted killing of civilians are grave war crimes by the Kiev regime and its Western masters," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The United States and other NATO members have ignored these deadly incidents, which smacks of "their direct involvement in the conflict and complicity in the crimes that are being committed," the ministry said. Furthermore, international structures tasked with providing impartial assessment of such acts are also quiet about the recent attacks.

The ministry stressed that the West continues to pay no heed to the "barbaric actions" of the Kiev regime, which kills people using weapons made in the United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

"All of these crime incidents caused by Kiev's armed formations under the patronage of the West will not go unpunished. They are being carefully recorded. The organizers and perpetrators will face inevitable punishment," the statement read.
On Saturday, the Ukrainian troops hit a hospital in the Lugansk People's Republic’s (LPR) Novoaydar from the US-made multiple rocket launcher system HIMARS, killing 14 people and injuring 24 others, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Later that day, the Ukrainian military fired 17 missiles at Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson region and more than five of them exploded on the territory of a local hospital, the local authorities reported.
