The quake was felt in Lebanon's capital, Beirut, according to residents who spoke with Sputnik. It was also felt in Damascus and Latakia in Syria, according to a local newspaper. Israelis in Tel Aviv also reported feeling the quake. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the quake was felt in Egypt, Georgia, Romania.
A massive 7.4-magnitude earthquake hit Kahramanmaras Province, central Turkey, at 01:17 GMT on Monday. The quake was recorded roughly 15 miles 24 kilometers underground and was felt in at least six nearby provinces (Hatay, Adana, Osmaniye, Diyarbakir, Malatya and Sanliurfa).
The quake was followed by dozens of aftershocks, with the strongest one having a magnitude of 6.6.
Dozens of buildings have collapsed across Turkey, and the death toll continues to goes up as rescue workers search for survivors. The massive earthquake also caused multiple buildings to collapse in Syria, leading to multiple deaths.

Russian Emergencies Ministry Aircraft Arrives in Earthquake-Hit Turkey
The Russian Emergencies Ministry's aircraft with Deputy Minister Alexander Chupriyan has arrived in Turkey, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

The An-148 aircraft with the ministry's top officials landed at Adana airport. Two additional planes with Russian rescuers are to arrive in Turkey are expected soon.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry said in a statement that more than 100 Russian rescuers arrived in Turkey to provide assistance following the devastating earthquakes that struck the region.

Biden Tells Erdogan US Ready to Provide Any, All Needed Aid After Quakes - White House
US President Joe Biden spoke by telephone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and said the United States will provide any assistance needed by Turkey following Monday's devastating earthquakes, the White House said in a readout of the conversation.

"President Joseph R. Biden spoke this afternoon with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey. He reaffirmed the readiness of the United States to provide any and all needed assistance to our NATO Ally Turkey in response to this tragedy," the readout said on Monday.

Biden also expressed condolences on behalf of the American people to all who lost loved ones or were injured in the earthquakes, the statement said.

In addition, Biden said specialized US teams are deploying quickly to support Turkish search and rescue efforts and to coordinate other assistance that may be required by people affected by the earthquakes.

Turkish Vice President: Death Toll Has Reached 2,379 as More Than 7,800 People Have Been Rescued
The death toll in Monday's earthquake in Turkey has risen to 2,379, more than 14,483 were injured, the country's Vice President Fuat Oktay said.

"According to the latest data, 2,379 people died and 14,483 people were injured in the earthquakes," Oktay told reporters. He said 7,840 people had been rescued from under the debris.

Health Ministry: Earthquake Death Toll in Syria Tops 700
The death toll in Monday's earthquake in Syria has increased to 711, the country's Health Ministry said in a statement.

"In the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, Idlib and Tartus, 711 people died and 1,431 were injured. The figures are not final," according to the statement.

Syria's Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 593 - Health Ministry
The death toll from the earthquake in Syria increased to 593, the country's health ministry said.

"In the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama and Tartus, 593 people died and 1,411 were injured," the ministry said, stressing that these figures are not yet final.

Russian Rescuers Depart to Turkey to Help Deal With Earthquake Aftermath
The first plane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) departed to Turkey to help in the aftermath of the earthquake, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
An-148 was the first to fly out of Zhukovsky airport with the ministry's leadership, including Deputy Emergencies Minister Alexander Chupriyan.
Two more planes will follow. In addition, one Il-76 will depart to Syria.

"When we are talking about the civil protection mechanism, we are able to provide this help because Turkey has come to us for assistance. Turkey has activated the mechanism for now.
