Biden to Discuss International Alliance on Ukraine in State of Union Address
President Joe Biden plans to discuss in his annual State of the Union address to the Congress the alliance of countries assembled “to protect and defend” Ukraine, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said on Tuesday.
“The President is going to talk about the continuing that alliance, that international alliance to protect and defend Ukraine,” Jean-Pierre told MSNBC.
Jean-Pierre noted that in the foreign policy part of his speech Biden plans to talk about China, including the recent situation regarding the Chinese balloon that was downed off the coast of the US state of South Carolina.
“Foreign policy, the president’s vision for the world, was always going to be part of the State of the Union address. That certainly includes how we have been moving forward with dealing with managing strategic competition with China. That is something that the President is going to talk about. Of course, we will take the latest news into account, as we prepare for the State of the Union,” she said.

Kiev Says US Supply of F-16 Fighter Jets to Ukraine 'Matter of Time'
F-16 fighter jets "will definitely come" to Ukraine and it is "only a matter of time" when the United States will send them to the country, Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, said on Tuesday.
"It's only a matter of time before we get F-16s. They will definitely come. Unfortunately, in the meantime we're losing our people while fighting for our independence," Danilov was quoted by US media as saying.
Kiev has long been asking Washington and other NATO nations for F-16 fighter jets to bolster its forces amid Russia's special military operation. The Politico newspaper reported in January, citing sources, that a group of US military officials was quietly lobbying for the delivery of F-16 fighter jets to Kiev and that it was gathering momentum in the US Defense Department amid Ukraine's preparations for a planned offensive this spring.
