On March 2, a sabotage group from Ukraine penetrated the border into the territory of the Klimovsky district's Liubechane village. The saboteurs fired at a moving vehicle, killing two people and injuring a child. Later, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported that Ukrainian nationalists had been forced back into the territory of Ukraine, where they were subjected to a massive artillery strike.Also, according to the FSB, Denis Kapustin, a Russian citizen living in Ukraine and acting on orders of the SBU, is also responsible for an assasination attempt on Konstantin Malofeev, chairman of the board of directors of the media group, Tsargrad, a conservative broadcaster. Malofeev, who is known for his active support of the Russian special operation in Ukraine and contribution to the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Donbass, has said that the foiled assassination plot against him will not alter his patriotic position. According to the video, shared by the FSB, the perpetrators sought to blow up Malofeev's car using explosives installed under his vehicle. The video shows how federal agents dismantled the bomb placed under his car and foiled the plot. The video also shows how the FSB thwarted another Kapustin-plotted terror attack, a scheme to blow up a Volgograd Region-based oil and gas facility in August 2022.The video concludes with a "statement" by the right-wing extremists from Russian Volunteer Corps regarding attack on Bryansk.The FSB pointed out that the attempt on Malofeev's life resembled the scheme used in the murder of Russian conservative journalist Daria Dugina, daughter of a political scientist Alexander Dugin. Dugin is a former Moscow State University professor, who actively supported the liberation of Donbass and Russia's special operation in Ukraine. His daughter Daria was a prominent Russian journalist who shared the same values as her father. Presumably, Alexander Dugin was the one targeted by the terrorists, but he was not in the car at the moment of the explosion.

"Kapustin was the organizer and direct participant in the attack on March 2, 2023, by members of the Russian Volunteer Corps on villages in the Bryansk region," the FSB said in a statement.
