Subscribe
US President Joseph Biden arrived in the Irish capital Dublin on Wednesday for a three-day visit. This is Biden's first trip to Ireland as US president.
Biden is on a three-day visit to the Republic of Ireland. The President was met at Dublin airport by Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.
Biden then went to meet distant relations on the Cooley Peninsula and in the village of Carlingford in County Louth on Ireland's east coast. Crowds of people lined the waterfront in Carlingford for the arrival of the presidential motorcade.
Biden had visited Belfast earlier, where he called on politicians to reopen the local government in Stormont, which ceased to function more than a year ago. Speaking at Ulster University, he praised the "enormous progress" made since the Good Friday Agreement was signed in 1998.
