MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The Israeli military has killed more than 2,000 fighters of Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip since the end of a pause in the fighting on December 1, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson RDML Daniel Hagari said Thursday.
"Our forces continue to intensify ground operations in northern and southern Gaza. Since the end of the operational pause on ground operations in Gaza, our forces have eliminated over 2,000 terrorists from the air, sea, and land," the IDF quoted Hagari as telling a press briefing.
Hagari also said that the IDF has increased the number of soldiers in eastern Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip and is "operating there determinedly with five infantry brigades and combat engineering forces."
