Russia Celebrates Long Range Airforce Birthday

Subscribe
Having come a long way from its origins as a WWI bomber squadron founded on December 23, 1914, Russia’s long-range aviation is a potent fleet of aircraft capable of striking at the country’s enemies no matter where they may hide.
Today, Russia’s long-range aircraft fleet includes Tu-160 and Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers, Tu-22M3 supersonic bombers, Il-78 tankers, and Tu-22MR reconnaissance aircraft — plus transport and helicopters.
Armament includes long-range cruise missiles, operational-tactical missiles in nuclear or conventional variants, and various aerial bombs.
