US President Joe Biden has officially announced that he is going to run in the presidential election next year, making his intent clear in a tweet posted on April 25.
In the tweet, Biden claimed he is going to run for reelection because "every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy" and "their fundamental freedoms," and he believes that this time has come.
"Join us. Let’s finish the job," he added.
US Vice President Kamala Harris has also confirmed on her Twitter account that she and Joe Biden are going to run for reelection in 2024 together.

Biden's Age

Inaugurated as US president at the age of 78, Joe Biden is currently 80, which makes him the oldest sitting POTUS in history.
If he manages to win the 2024 election, he is going to be 82 years old at the beginning of his second term and 86 by the end.

Biden's Opponents

Several prominent members of the Democratic and the Republican parties have also announced their intent to run for president in the upcoming election, including none other than Donald Trump - the 45th President of the United States who lost his reelection bid to Biden in 2024 and seems to be eager for a rematch.
