he top defense official informed the British parliament about the arms transfer to Ukraine and tried to downplay the significance of this move, claiming that Russia has far more capable weaponry.
Earlier in the day, American media reported that the UK had sent its Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine after receiving guarantees from the Zelensky regime that they would not be used against targets inside Russia.
Another American news outlet claimed that Kiev, for a while now, had been begging for long-range missiles, but the Biden administration declined to provide such advanced arms.
Russian officials castigated this move and pledged to deliver an adequate response.
"[We are] very negative [about such deliveries]. This will require an adequate response from our military, who, naturally, from a military point of view, will make appropriate decisions," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
