After the first round of presidential election in France, an independent candidate Emmanuel Macron goes ahead with 23.75 percent of vote, as his main rival, far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen trails behind with 21.53.
The two candidates are now setting for the second round, which is to be held on May 7.
At the same time center-right Francois Fillon has 19.91 percent and left-wing Jean-Luc Melenchon has 19.64 percent.
