GENEVA (Sputnik) — She added that security of both Russia and Syria was interdependent and expressed hope that Moscow and Damascus would continue their dialogue to tackle terrorism.
"We hope that our friendly, brotherly relations would develop in order to reach a joint victory over terrorism," Hadiya Khalaf Abbas said at a meeting with Speaker of Russia's Federation Council Valentina Matvienko in Geneva.
Moscow has been conducting an aerial campaign against terrorist groups in Syria, such as Jabhat Fatah al Sham (also known as al-Nusra Front, or Jabhat al-Nusra) and Daesh, which are outlawed in Russia, since September 30, 2015 at Syrian President Bashar Assad's request.
