Nuclear Industry China 2006, taking place in Beijing March 28-31, will bring together producers and suppliers of equipment and technology for nuclear power plants. It is one of the events on the program of the Year of Russia in China, a series of cultural, economic and other events designed to promote bilateral exchanges.
A Russian-Chinese seminar on peaceful nuclear energy cooperation will be held as part of the show. Currently, bilateral nuclear cooperation between Russia and China includes construction of two reactors at the Tianwan NPP.
An official statement by the Federal Nuclear Power Agency also quoted its head Sergei Kiriyenko as saying that China was a long-term strategic partner in the field of civilian uses of nuclear power, and added that cooperation in that sphere could be expanded.
