TBILISI, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - A deputy Georgia foreign minister Friday charged Russia with planning terrorist attacks in the breakaway republic of South Ossetia.
A bomb exploded Friday outside the house of a member of parliament of the unrecognized republic, killing two persons and other injuring three.
"I consider it outrageous... that the Russian side, together with Tskhinvali separatists, plans and carries out such provocations in the Tskhinvali region, pursuing its objectives there," Merab Antadze said. "The objective is clear to all: a military escalation, provocation, and Russia's military intervention in Georgia, allegedly to protect Russian citizens."
He said the latest reports in the Russian media saying that Georgia was preparing military operations in Tskhinvali, as well as a statement by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov that he would stand up for the Russian peacekeepers in the region, were designed to justify the military confrontation that had been planned by Russia.
