MOSCOW, May 11 (RIA Novosti) - Swiss companies have invested over $3 billion in Russia, a Russian first deputy prime minister said Friday during a meeting with a senior Swiss official in Moscow.
Over 600 Swiss companies are active on the Russian market, Sergei Ivanov said, and praised Russian businesses for an active approach to the Swiss market, describing it as an important indicator of Russia's economic openness.
Samuel Schmid, who is responsible for defense, civil protection and sports in the Swiss government, also highlighted the importance of cultural and academic ties and recollected VE- Day celebrations in Moscow.
"Your victory deserves such celebrations," he said.
