Reigning champion Sweden had to sweat to snatch a 3-2 win on penalty shots over a tenacious Switzerland team at the world junior hockey championships on Friday.

MOSCOW, December 28 (R-Sport) – Reigning champion Sweden had to sweat to snatch a 3-2 win on penalty shots over a tenacious Switzerland team at the world junior hockey championships on Friday.

Sweden surges to the top of Group A with two wins in two, while the Swiss trail by two points in second.

Calgary Hitmen center Victor Rask dispatched the winning penalty shot to snatch the victory for Sweden.

Eliot Antonietti had put Switzerland into the lead on 16 minutes with a stinging wrist shot.

Sweden hit back through Sebastian Collberg, a second-round draft pick by the Montreal Canadiens, but Mike Kunzle's third goal of the tournament put the Swiss ahead again.

Swedish defenseman Emil Djuse struck a second leveler in the third period to send the game into an overtime that turned out goalless.

Earlier, Canada survived an early scare to register a 6-3 comeback win over Slovakia, while the Czech Republic grabbed its first win at the tournament defeating Finland 3-1.

Russia was playing the United States in the final game of the day.
