IZHEVSK, November 24 (RIA Novosti) – One person was killed and three injured as a car hit an elk in the Russian Urals republic of Udmurtia, the regional traffic police department said in a statement Sunday.
The elk weighing over 300 kilograms ran out to the road chased by hunting dogs some 3-5 meters in front of the VAZ car, and the driver had no time to act, the statement said.
One passenger, a woman, died in the accident. The driver and two passengers were seriously injured and hospitalized.
The department said the hunt was illegal. The hunters were detained.
