MOSCOW, August 4 (RIA Novosti) - More than 100 Russian Air Force aircraft are to participate in military exercises in the Western and Central military districts, the Russian Defense Ministry's press service said Monday.
“Overall, more than 100 different aircraft will be involved in the exercises, including Su-27 and MiG-31 fighter jets, Su-34 strike aircraft, Su-24 attack aircraft and Mi-8, Mi-24 and Mi-28H attack helicopters,” the Defense Ministry said.
Air Force units from different parts of the country are expected to take part in the exercises.
The first stage will see the aircraft relocating from the northern airfields of the Western Military District to those of the Central Military District. The second stage will involve the aircraft of the southern airfields.
The exercises start on Monday and will run until August 8.
