How relevant is Shakespeare after more than 400 years? Today, in this edition of “Looking Forward” hosts Marina Dzhashi and a prominent Russian writer Victor Erofeyev are discussing one the most mysterious English playwrights – William Shakespeare. Shakespeare is definitely the writer for all the times, generations and societies. In his plays you can find almost everything: empathy and patience, open-mindedness and curiosity, irony and, of course, wisdom. Asking a lot of questions he never answers them, letting the reader answer for himself. Reading Shakespeare, everyone can find something of his own. Even one person can interpret Shakespeare differently from time to time and this, definitely, poses a serious challenge for the translators. But maybe this is the secret that lets his works to be loved through centuries.
