MOSCOW, October 7 (RIA Novosti) - German racing driver Michael Schumacher, currently undergoing rehabilitation after a severe head injury, will soon be able to live a relatively normal life, but he will never drive a Formula One car again, Jean Todt, president of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and Schumacher’s close friend, said.
"We may assume that Schumacher can live a relatively normal life within a short period of time," Todt said as cited by the motorsport.com website. "What we can say is that he will probably never again drive a Formula One car. "He fights. His condition improves, which is very important, as is the fact that he is now home with his family," he added.
Schumacher is currently undergoing a course of rehabilitation in his home in Switzerland after suffering a traumatic brain injury while skiing in the French Alps on 29 December 2013.
After the accident, he was put into a medically induced coma for several months. In June, his condition improved and he was brought out of the coma. He later left Grenoble Hospital for further rehabilitation in Lausanne. In July, Schumacher’s wife Corinna said his condition was gradually improving.
