UNITED NATIONS, December 4 (Sputnik) — UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday condemned the recent terrorist attack in Grozny and offered his condolences to the people and government of Russia.
Ban Ki-moon "strongly condemns the terrorist attacks of 4 December in Grozny, Russian Federation. He reiterates that there can be no justification for acts of terror."

Ban also "sends his deepest condolences to the families of the victims of these heinous acts, as well as to the Government and people of the Russian Federation. He wishes a speedy recovery to those injured."
In the early hours of Thursday, three cars full of armed militants attacked a road patrol station in Grozny, in Russia's southern Republic of Chechnya. Three police officers died when attempting to stop the cars. The terrorists later found shelter in the city's Press House.
In an anti-terrorism operation to follow, at least seven law enforcement officers were killed and another 18 were injured. A total of 10 militants were killed in the operation, according to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee.
