MOSCOW, December 21 (Sputnik) — Pakistani authorities have agreed to postpone the execution of Russian citizen Akhlas Akhlaq, sentenced to death for attempting to assassinate Pakistan's former president, until Monday, the Russian consul in Pakistan told RIA Novosti Sunday, citing Alhlaq's lawyer.
"The information that the execution has been delayed is coming from his [Akhlaq's] lawyer. It was supposedly delayed until the arrival of his mother, but, as you know, there is no guarantee," Evgeniy Fidchuk said.
