Kiev Violates Ceasefire 15 Times on New Year’s Eve: Donetsk
The crisis in Ukraine escalated in April 2014 when Kiev launched a military operation to suppress the independence supporters of Luhansk and Donetsk regions who refused to recognize the coup-imposed central government.

A ceasefire agreement, brokered by Russia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, was signed between the conflicting sides in September. On December 9, a "silence regime" was declared in a bid to revive peace negotiations between the sides.

However, following the implementation of the ceasefire, both Kiev and the authorities of Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR and LPR) have repeatedly accused each other of violating the truce.
