Suspected Ebola Patient Hospitalized in Edinburgh Tests Negative for Virus

On Thursday, another person, who had returned to Scotland from West Africa, was placed in hospital in Edinburgh when concerns were raised over Ebola. The patient in question subsequently tested negative for the deadly virus.

There has been only one confirmed case of the Ebola virus in the United Kingdom to date. In December 2014, Pauline Cafferkey, a nurse from Scotland, tested positive for the deadly virus after she returned from Sierra Leone, where she had been volunteering with the Save the Children charity. Cafferkey is currently undergoing treatment in London's Royal Free Hospital.
