MOSCOW, January 18 (Sputnik) – The man suspected in the Saturday attack on two Canadian constables in St. Albert, a suburb of Edmonton, the capital of Alberta province, has been found dead, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced in a statement.
According to the statement, police had tracked the suspect to the location after the attack and have "directed the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) to initiate an independent review of the circumstances of the suspect's death".
Meanwhile, the two officers wounded in the Saturday attack remain at the hospital. According to RCMP, Constable David Matthew Wynn, 42, is in "grave condition", while Auxiliary Constable Derek Walter Bond, 49, is in "serious but stable condition".
According to RCMP, the officers were shot and wounded while conducting an investigation near a golf course in St. Albert.
