MOSCOW, January 18 (Sputnik) – An unknown gunman fired several shots towards US Vice President Joe Biden’s house in Delaware; the vice president and his wife were not home when the incident happened, Secret Service spokesperson Robert Hoback told CNN.
"A vehicle drove by the vice president's residence at a high rate of speed and fired multiple gun shots. This occurred on a public road outside the established security perimeter. The shots were heard by Secret Service personnel posted at the residence and a vehicle was observed by an agent leaving the scene at a high rate of speed," Hoback said, as quoted by CNN.

Secret Service and the local police were unable to catch the vehicle as it raced away. New Castle Delaware County Police are currently working with the Secret Service to investigate the incident, The New York Times reports.
“Fortunately, there were no reports of any injuries as a result of the incident,” said the police statement, cited by MSNBC News.
Biden’s private home is located several hundred meters from the main road, where the shots were fired.
