The UK Ministry of Defense has confirmed that a private company delivered British Saxon armored vehicles to Ukraine. The equipment is out-of-service and is non-lethal.
The delivery, organized through the Disposal Services authority, was carried out under a 2013 agreement.
20 armored cars have already been delivered, while 55 are expected to arrive soon, according to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC). They will be upgraded and put into military service, NSDC's head Oleksandr Turchynov said.
The vehicles "came without armaments, we will equip them with combat unit to provide effective fire cover for the National Guard or other units, in which these armored vehicles will be supplied," Turchynov said, as quoted by the NSDC.
