US drone strikes in the Middle East, Somalia and Afghanistan are totally outside the range of ethics, the Washington DC representative of the CODEPINK anti-war organization said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik), Alexander Mosesov — The drone strikes carried out in the Greater Middle East, which includes Somalia and Afghanistan, run contrary to basic human ethics, the Washington DC representative of the CODEPINK anti-war organization told Sputnik on Friday.

Anti-War Group to Start Campaign Against US Killer Drones Operations
"We certainly feel that it's [US drone strikes] totally outside the range of ethics. Our Constitution states that we will not go to war preemptively. But we do it all the time," Joan Stallard told the news agency.

Stallard added that CODEPINK felt "very strongly" that the US drone strikes in the Middle East, Somalia and Afghanistan were war crimes.

CODEPINK, which describes itself as "a women-led grassroots organization working to end U.S. wars and militarism," is planning to participate in a massive campaign calling for the shutdown of the US Air Force base in Indian Springs, Nevada.

The campaign, which is planned to take place from February 28 to March 6, claims the US Creech Air Force Base is the country's first base remotely operating war drones in deadly operations across the Greater Middle East.

According to the US-based Council on Foreign Relations, the United States has carried out more than 500 targeted killing drone strikes since 2001, killing an estimated 3,674 militants, including 473 civilians.
