“Attack, fighter, bomber and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 20 airstrikes in Syria,” the statement said, adding that 11 airstrikes were conducted in Iraq.
Airstrikes in Syria destroyed two Islamic State tactical units, an armored vehicle, and a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device near Hasakah; a crude oil collection near Dayr az Zawr; nine tactical units, 24 fighting positions, two staging areas, two tanks, and three vehicles near Kobani; three tactical units, an vehicle, and an Islamic State checkpoint near Tal Harris, the statement said.
In Iraq, airstrikes wiped out three Islamic State tactical units and a building near Asad; a tactical unit and a building near Fallujah; a checkpoint and a vehicle near Mosul; a tactical unit and a vehicle near Hit in the Anbar province; two tactical units, two buildings and an armored vehicle near Ramadi; and an armored vehicle near Rawah.
The airstrikes were a part of Operation Inherent Resolve, whose goal is to eliminate the Islamic State and the threat it poses Iraq, Syria, the Middle East, and the rest of the world, the statement said.
