MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A Ukrainian parliamentarian questioned over crimes against a Russian citizen during last year's events in southern Ukraine has left central Moscow's police station, RIA Novosti reported Sunday.
Oleksiy Goncharenko was accompanied by the Ukrainian Consul to Russia Hennadiy Breskalenko and boarded a vehicle with diplomatic license plates, refusing to speak with the press.
Goncharenko's lawyer stated that the lawmaker was detained for disobeying a police officer during Nemtsov's funeral march and was not aware of his client's relation to the Odessa events.
Goncharenko reportedly took part in last May's violent events in southern Ukraine's Odessa. On May 2, far-right activists blocked anti-European Union protesters inside the city's House of Trade Unions and set the building on fire, killing over 40.
The parliamentarian posted photos of killed and burnt bodies online.
