Norwegian Justice Minister Anders Anundsen will sign the deal with Dutch State Secretary Fred Teeven.
The deal requires approval by the Norwegian parliament.
The Netherlands is closing some 19 prison facilities, while in Norway over a thousand convicted criminals are currently lining up to serve their sentences.
The Netherlands has already rented out some 300 places to Belgium, who faces similar overcrowding problems.
Not everyone in Norway is happy about this policy, however, with Hadia Tajik, the deputy leader of the opposition Labor Party arguing that the money would have been better spent upgrading and expanding the country’s own penitentiaries.
