WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US Department of State is reviewing former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’ e-mails and will make them public promptly, US Secretary of State John Kerry said during a joint press conference with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal.
“We are now in the process of appropriately reviewing those for public release, as we do for any document for public release,” Kerry said on Thursday.
Earlier on Thursday, Clinton asked the State Department to release the e-mails during her tenure as Secretary of State amid allegations that she used her personal e-mail address for official, department-related business.
On Monday night, The New York Times cited State Department sources that Clinton used a personal e-mail address between 2009 and 2013 when she served as Secretary of State, and did not have an official e-mail address.
The State Department said Clinton did not break any rules in using her personal e-mail address for official business.
