MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Heavy rain and hailstorm killed 14 people in several states of north India and damaged crops on Sunday, the Times of India reported.
Rain, lightning and hailstorms killed 12 people in Rajasthan, while two more persons were killed after heavy rain triggered rock-slide in the mountainous state of Uttarakhand.
Thunderstorms caused perish of scores of cattle and damaged wide areas of standing crops, sown in winter.
Heavy snowfall also caused looming avalanche threat over tribal areas of the Himachal Pradesh state.
