WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) employee Shawn Usman who crashed a recreational drone into the White House grounds in January will remain in his job, the NGA said in a statement.
The Agency added that Usman was off duty at the time of the incident and is not involved in work related to drones.
The US Attorney’s office in Washington said in a statement earlier on Wednesday that Usman will not be charged with a crime.
A crashed drone was found on the grounds of the White House on January 26. The US Secret Service launched an investigation into the incident on the same day.
The Secret Service discovered that Usman was drinking at his apartment and lost control of the unmanned aerial vehicle before it landed on the White House grounds.
