Similar systems operate in more than 80 cities around Russia; the system was used to provide security during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
“The presentation of the Russian security system at the ASEAN conference in Langkawi, Malaysia, has generated substantive interest and we are counting on practical results,” said the deputy head of Rosoboronexport Sergei Goreslavsky. “We are counting on bilateral talks with Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and other countries.”
He also stressed that the customer will be able to choose whether to obtain the system as a whole or some of its selected elements.
The complex automated system (CAS) Safe City initiative is focused on mitigating security, safety and operational risks.
It is the first large-scale Russian IT system based on locally-produced hardware and software. The system ensures the efficient interaction of task forces, as well as the forecasting and prevention of incidents and criminal offenses.
One of the specific features of CAS Safe City is its ability to install additional smart software, which can automatically — without human interference — recognize criminal activities and alert the operators. It enables one police officer to control many surveillance cameras simultaneously.
It incorporates many subsystems, including a video surveillance system used for operational observation and crime prevention.
This experience can be put into practice by Brazil during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
